What to do in the event of an accident on the railway – Actua

What can I do if there is an accident on the track involving hazardous substances? Residents living near the railway will receive information about this from the Twente Safety Region. Because it can take 10 minutes for the emergency services to arrive and they have to save themselves during that time.

Meter cupboard card
People who live 200 meters from the track will receive a letter with a meter card. It states what they can do in the event of an emergency.

Hazardous Substances
According to the Safety Region, research shows that not all local residents know the danger of an accident involving hazardous substances on the railway.

More and more trains
The Safety Region points out that more and more freight trains containing hazardous substances are driving on the track between Deventer and Oldenzaal. More and more construction is also taking place in areas around the railway.
