A 42-year-old woman was shot dead by her 44-year-old husband on the Ainoel Alibaksweg in Suriname on Thursday evening. The perpetrator was arrested by the Paranam police and taken to the police station for arraignment.
The editors learned that murder suspect Dhiradj M. probably came home drunk around 9:40 PM and argued with his wife Artie. The man grabbed a shotgun and shot in the woman’s direction. The woman was hit in the neck and lower jaw and died on the spot.
The Paranam police were alerted about the shooting incident and went to the spot to investigate. The suspect was arrested in handcuffs and taken to the police station.
The legally owned shotgun was found (photo) and was seized in the interests of the investigation.
Artie’s body was seized for autopsy in coordination with a member of the Surinamese Public Prosecution Service. Research will have to reveal what exactly happened at the address on Ainoel Alibaksweg. The investigation into this case continues.
