At least one person was injured in an accident on the A73 between Venlo and Nijmegen. Seven cars were involved in the accident on Monday. The highway was closed for much of the evening.

A spokesperson for the Limburg police says that at least one motorist was injured in the accident, but does not want to say anything further. According to L1news that person was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The accident happened on Monday around 6 p.m. The road between Venray (Limburg) and Vierlingsbeek (North Brabant) is then closed. To give emergency services space, it was decided a short time later to also close the road in the direction of Venlo.

The road was reopened in both directions around 9:30 p.m. A spokesperson for Rijkswaterstaat says that the left lanes in both directions were still closed on Monday evening to repair the damage to the guardrail in the central reservation.
