The reviews were a lot better than the first season, but not everyone was convinced by season 2.

The first season of Halo was not well received by everyone, but fortunately the reviews were a lot better with season 2. But is that, combined with the viewing figures, enough for a third season?

The second season of Halo is full of huge scenes that seem to have been lifted straight from the games and also takes us to the place many fans have been waiting for (the titular Halo ring), but is there enough material for more episodes?

A hit?

If we look at the ratings for the first few episodes,… Halo scored nicely for Paramount+/SkyShowtime.

It stayed that way Halo S2 with 354 million minutes watched in the first four days behind major titles such as Netflix series Griselda (735 million) and Amazon series Mr. and Mrs. Smith (765 million), but scored better than, for example Reacher season 2 (314 million), The Crown (238 million) and Percy Jackson and the Olympians (227 million).

Conflict among fans

In addition, there was a lot of attention for the series on various social media platforms: some people praised the new direction of the series, but for the more sour viewer, the series still cannot compete with the games.

Critics were a lot nicer for season 2. While season 1 scored 70% on Rotten Tomatoes, this rose to 89% in season 2.

Enough for season 3?

If you add all these numbers to the fact that the end of season 2 leaves the door wide open for a new series of episodes, which are probably the closest in terms of story to the Halogames will come, Paramount+ would be almost foolish not to greenlight more Halo.

Halo Seasons 1 and 2 can now be streamed via SkyShowtime.
