In the heart of Madrid, near the iconic Puerta del Sol, a shocking event was reported in the early hours of Wednesday into Thursday. Two young Asian women cried out loudly for help as they were subjected to a sexual assault by a 30-year-old Dutch man. This not only caused stress, but also led to injuries for an officer who tried to arrest the perpetrator.
The police radios began to crackle with urgent calls at 2am. Two Asian girls shouted loudly for help at Puerta del Sol as a man violently sexually assaulted them. The quick response of the police ensured that they caught the perpetrator red-handed. The man had rudely groped and touched the girls.
The police managed to arrest a 30-year-old Dutch man, but he offered fierce resistance. He fought against arrest and even punched one of the officers, causing him to suffer a minor shoulder injury. Another plainclothes officer suffered a torn sweater due to the man’s violence.
Of the two victims, the 19-year-old girl from Getafe was the main target of the sexual assault. Crying and shaking, she told the municipal officers that she had felt very intimidated. Her 21-year-old friend from Leganés tried to push the man away but was unable to do so due to his strength and muscular physique.
The Dutch suspect was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and violence against civil servants in office. He is expected to appear in court to answer for his actions.
