For someone who constantly talks about “Sleepy Joe” Biden, it appears to be quite difficult for former American president Donald Trump himself to stay awake. Of the seven days he now had to be present in court for his own trial, Trump fell asleep for five days. That, combined with persistent rumors that he is now farting, is, according to psychologists, a sign that Trump is suffering from dementia.
John Gartner, an assistant professor of psychiatry at John Hopkins University in the United States, says falling asleep during your own trial is so rare that it begs for further explanation. According to Gartner, any other person in Trump’s situation would be so full of adrenaline that it would be virtually impossible to fall asleep. It can happen once, for example due to lack of sleep and other reasons for being overtired, but not on five out of seven days.
In addition, several people present in the court said that Trump farted during the hearing. There is no hard evidence of this, as recording equipment is prohibited in court, odor cannot be captured anyway and its origin is usually guesswork. There are now numerous court drawings of a sleeping Trump.
According to Gartner, uncontrolled flatulence is also a sign of possible dementia, especially in combination with being unable to stay awake. “He couldn’t hold it in if his life depended on it,” Gartner says. According to the professor, Trump would not take naps on purpose, because he is ridiculed for it in the American media and, knowing Trump, he would want to prove for that reason alone that no one in the world can stay awake as well as he can.
Trump is currently facing 34 charges of falsifying documents and unlawful use of campaign funds. The key to the lawsuit is former porn actress Stormy Daniels, to whom Trump is said to have paid hush money to keep stories about Trump’s escapades out of the press. This hush money is said to have been paid from campaign coffers.
