Siddeburen – On Friday, March 22, the Council of the Future presented the book ‘Square Games’ in Siddeburen. This book contains fun games and activities that can be played on the schoolyard. As part of the presentation, children’s council members played a few games together with students from OBS de Springplank in Siddeburen.

‘It is important that children can exercise and exercise sufficiently’
The content of the book fits well with the theme ‘sports and exercise’ that the Council of the Future is committed to this year. Children’s mayor Belinay Babuscu: “It is very important that all children in Central Groningen can exercise and exercise sufficiently. That makes you healthier and gives you a good feeling. With this book I hope that children can play even more fun games on the schoolyard together with friends from their class.” The idea behind the book is that children teach each other the games, so that they adopt them from each other and do them together.

Several children’s council activities
The presentation of the book is one of the activities that the Council of the Future is doing this school year around ‘sports and exercise’. The children’s council members are also conducting research into the possibilities for outdoor sports and play in the municipality. At the end of the school year, they report the results to the municipality.

Students from OBS de Springplank in Siddeburen play some games from the book under the guidance of children’s council members and neighborhood sports coaches.
