Book about the famous Bergen tenor saxophonist with tinnitus

--

As of May 1, the book will be available in Bergen at the Eerste Bergensche Boekhandel and at Boekhandel Thomas

Tenor saxophonist Rinus Groeneveld wants to raise awareness of tinnitus (ringing in the ears) with his book ‘Tenoritus, 36 years of tenor sax & tinnitus’.
In 2024, more than 2 million people in the Netherlands will suffer from tinnitus, of which at least 60,000 will have serious complaints.
Rinus asked me to write down his story. He supplemented the text with columns and photos. The book is more than a biography, it shows how much impact tinnitus has on his life and how resourcefully he deals with it. It is fascinating to read, especially because the book has a positive sound.

Rinus grew up in Bergen and his first musical performances were in 1967 on the flute with Guruperide and in 1969 with the band Mayfly from Bergen. He subsequently performed on tenor saxophone with many well-known and unknown musicians, more about which in the book. He lives with his family in Amsterdam. He has a music studio and performs every Thursday evening at Jazz Café Alto in Amsterdam.

As of May 1, 2024, the book will be available in Bergen at the Eerste Bergensche Boekhandel, Oude Prinsweg 11 and at Boekhandel Thomas, Stationsstraat 7-9.

Furthermore, there will be a book presentation on Friday, May 3 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the Concerto music store, Utrechtsestraat 54-60 in Amsterdam. The book is also for sale there.
