Grid operator TenneT expects that the transport costs for the high-voltage grid will be slightly lower next year. This is likely to have benefits for both households and companies, even if it only amounts to a few euros per year.
Last year and this year, TenneT’s transmission rates rose sharply. This was mainly because the company had to incur more costs to run the grid due to increased electricity prices. Now that prices on the electricity market are falling, these costs are also decreasing.
The grid operator says that an average household will probably see the so-called TenneT part of the energy bill decrease from 124 euros this year to 119 euros next year. For a small SME it would mean a decrease from 776 to 742 euros.
These costs are paid indirectly to TenneT via the regional grid operator. This is a preliminary estimate. The rates for next year will not actually be determined later this year.
