Tina Nijkamp expects that Tom Egbers will soon make his appearance as a table guest Today Inside. The 66-year-old presenter reached a settlement with his employer, the NOS, on Friday, which means he will be seen again at that broadcaster from the autumn of 2024.
Egbers disappeared from the TV in March 2023 when the NOS decided to ‘exempt him from work’ following an article in De Volkskrant. It explains how the presenter bullied and intimidated a female employee of the broadcaster for a long time, after his wife discovered that he was having an affair with the same employee. Egbers called the woman, among other things, ‘the axis of evil’.

Nijkamp, former program director of SBS and nowadays an expert in the field of viewing figures and other television news, discusses in her Instagram Stories the news that Egbers and the NOS came to an agreement behind the scenes. She then posts a screenshot of a question she received from a follower: “Is he also free to join other programs such as VI? I get the impression that Wilfred (Gene, ed.) and Johan (Derksen, ed.) really want that,” it can be read. “I think so!” is Nijkamp’s answer. “Soon at VI at the table,” concludes the former channel boss.

In Today Inside developments in the ‘Egbers case’ were regularly discussed over the past year. Last week, Derksen took an emphatic stand when he noted that ‘never before has anyone in the media world been subjected to as much injustice as Tom Egbers’. The mustachioed analyst also alluded to Egbers’ debut as a table guest in the popular SBS talk show: “He remains very welcome here. An excellent colleague, who is dismissed as old trash at the NOS.”
