Singer Lenny Kuhr has recovered after having to cancel a concert on Friday due to illness. Rob Frank, her husband and manager, informed the ANP on Monday. Safety measures will again be taken at her upcoming performances, after activists disrupted her concert last week.

The 74-year-old Kuhr suffered from voice problems. “In addition, the past week was quite emotional for her,” Frank adds. A concert in Waalwijk was disrupted by pro-Palestinian activists who accused her of ‘genocide’. A performance in Stadskanaal did go ahead, but the police and municipality took additional security measures.

Kuhr’s next concert is next weekend in a synagogue in Emmen. “The extra security measures are a new reality for the time being,” Frank fears. “And unfortunately it doesn’t just affect theaters.” He refers to an incident involving pro-Palestinian activists who disrupted the screening of an Israeli film in a cinema in Maastricht last week.

The Eurovision Song Contest winner and her husband will continue to contact the police in the near future about possible threats at subsequent performances. But on-site security will be a matter for the theater or performance location each time.
