A motorist caused an accident in Oud Gastel on Thursday morning while trying to flee from the police. During his flight, he crashed his car into another car and a truck on the Roosendaalsebaan. Officers who chased the man were then able to arrest him.
The man who fled the scene and the driver of the other car were injured in the accident. It is not clear why the driver wanted to escape the officers. After the crash, only a pile of scrap metal remains of the front of his car.
There was quite a bit of devastation on Thursday morning on the Roosendaalsebaan where the accident happened. At the intersection with Wagonstraat, the man’s plan to shake off the officers came to an end. He had to abandon his attempt to escape when he crashed into a truck and another car.
The police have arrested the driver, but they cannot yet say why he was fleeing. Wagonstraat and Roosendaalsebaan are closed for the police investigation.
