A man (37) from Eindhoven has been sentenced to fourteen years in prison for kidnapping and assaulting another man and for drug and arms trafficking. The court in Den Bosch determined this. The judge called his method “sadistic and degrading”.

During a check in 2021, agents found, among other things, a loaded shotgun in the man’s van and then also searched his home. In the basement of his residential complex were three cars that were used as a storage place for drugs and weapons. In addition to large quantities of drugs, the police also seized hand grenades and automatic weapons.

Degrading and sadistic

The victim was kidnapped in June 2020 and blindfolded and tied up in a garage in Eindhoven. Two of his fingertips were also cut off.

“The gruesome acts of violence were an extremely shocking and frightening experience for the victim that he will not soon forget. His severed fingertips in particular continue to remind him every day of the humiliating, painful and frightening events he had to undergo,” the judge said.

The court calls it “shocking” that the man was tortured in a “laconic, degrading and sadistic manner”. The Public Prosecution Service had demanded sixteen years in prison. The judge imposed a slightly lower sentence because the Eindhoven resident had not previously been sentenced to a long prison term.
