A member of the Dominican ‘Los Trinitarios’ gang was arrested in Amsterdam this week. The man had been wanted for more than seven years after he shot a man from the rival gang ‘Don’t Play’ outside a club in Madrid. According to the Spanish police, the man had been living in Amsterdam for years in his mother’s home with other members of the family.

The man had been on the run since 2017 after shooting a man outside a nightclub in Madrid, who turned out to be a member of a rival gang from the Dominican Republic. Investigation shows that an argument had taken place in the club prior to the shooting. This is what the Spanish police wrote.

Different identity

Investigations by the Spanish, Dominican and Dutch authorities established that the fugitive – probably for years – had been staying in a house in the city with his mother and other family members. Even though he had assumed a new identity, an examination of his fingerprint showed that he was the wanted man.

The ‘Los Trinitarios’ gang was founded in New York and has members mainly from the Dominican Republic. The shooting victim is said to be a member of the rival ‘Don’t Play’.
