Rayane won the 17ᵉ season of the talent show “La France a un incroyable talent” last Tuesday. Who is the 15-year-old teenager who convinced the jury?
The adventure started for 15-year-old Rayane after a video of him playing the piano in 2021 was posted online without his knowledge. He learned to play the instrument in the stations in Paris through online tutorials. The video on social media propelled him forward. The teams of “La France a un incroyable talent” pocketed him. In October, Rayane performed the Piano Sonata No. 14 by Beethoven in the show. His performance moved Marianne James, one of the program’s four judges.

The young man lives with a foster family in Montreuil, north of Paris, because his father is homeless and his mother is “too sick to take care of him”. Singer Hélène Ségara’s Golden Buzzer helped Rayane reach the final. The self-taught pianist won the 2022 edition of the program broadcast on M6, with his rendition of a work by Chopin. He won 100,000 euros, an amount that he will only receive when he comes of age.

Rayane is happy to be the big winner of the 2022 edition and told the newspaper Le Parisien that he is “passionate and a great perfectionist”. His dream, he said, is to become an artist and teach classical music.
