There is cake on the Bergweg in Hilversum: the Talpa radio stations Sky Radio and Radio 10 have had a good week, both stations rose half a percent in market share. Radio 538 also remains relatively intact and above the 9% market share. The new game in which listeners can win a lot of cash does not seem to be quite the listening time extender they need, it is better to put the game back on the drawing board and build in a tension so that the giveaways are better connected, the amount increases and working towards a climax.

Speaking of highlights: there appears to have been a summit meeting last Friday regarding… Radio 10 by general radio boss Dave Minneboo, John de Mol and.. afternoon deejay Rob van Someren. From next Monday he will be back on the channel with Somertijd after a long absence. This despite persistent rumors that he is in talks with RadioCorp to join 100%NL not only to do the afternoon show but also to become station manager, something he also aspires to do at Radio 10.

The replacement of the head of music at 3FM seems to be slowly paying off: less floppy guitar noise ensures that the listening time becomes longer and the market share even increases slightly. Speaking of guitar noise: it works KINK but not to increase market share, despite the coveted FM frequencies in the Randstad. Time to critically examine the format there too.
