Atalanta reached the final of the Coppa Italia at the expense of Fiorentina on Wednesday. Thanks to a goal by Teun Koopmeiners, a half bicycle kick by Gianluca Scamacca and two goals in injury time, the Bergamo club won 4-1.

Fiorentina won the first leg 1-0, so Atalanta knew a win was necessary. The Europa League semi-finalist started energetically through Koopmeiners, who opened the score with a slider within eight minutes.

After the break, Fiorentina suffered the next blow with the sending off of Nikola Milenkovic, who was sent off for bringing down a player who had broken through. However, the club from Florence drew level through Lucas Martínez Quarta.

In the exciting final phase, Atalanta still walked away with the final ticket. Scamacca, a former PSV and PEC Zwolle player, gave the home team the lead again with a beautiful half bicycle kick. Atalanta eventually won 4-1 through injury time goals from Ademola Lookman and Mario Pasalic.

Koopmeiners and Marten de Roon played the entire match for Atalanta. Mitchel Bakker and Hans Hateboer remained on the bench.

Atalanta will play Juventus in the final on May 15. The Turin superpower qualified for the final battle by beating Lazio over two matches. Former Ajax player Arkadiusz Milik gave Juventus a final ticket with a goal on Tuesday.
