Just like in all previous competition matches, Feyenoord Under 18 was unable to win against their peers from Ajax Under 18. The Rotterdam team quickly fell behind via a penalty and they were unable to rectify that deficit. With a 1-3 victory, the important points go to the capital.

Robin van Persie even had Feyenoord Under 21 players with Jaden Slory, Givairo Read and Fabiano Rust at his disposal in this important match for the championship, but that did not help. The team from Amsterdam now have a lead of six points with one match to play. After the kick-off of the game was delayed by fifteen minutes, the away team took the lead from the spot through Don Konadu after seven minutes of play.

In the remainder of the first half, there were no great opportunities for either team, but the Rotterdam team in particular hardly became dangerous. After fifteen minutes of play in the second half, the match seemed to have already been decided after Jan Faberski doubled the score. Eight minutes later, Konadu scored his second penalty of the evening. In the last minute of the match, top talent Kelvin Neijenhuis managed to shoot the ball hard into the net, but this was not enough to make the match exciting.
