Matthew Karch, the CEO of Saber Interactive, indicated during an interview with IGN that everything is going well with the development of the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. However, it is not yet clear when the game will be released.

Karch confirmed to IGN that Saber Interactive has taken on development of the game. “The game is alive and well,” it sounds. “We are also committed to exceeding consumer expectations,” the CEO said. The man did not provide further details about a possible release date.

Saber Interactive was sold by Embracer Group in March 2024. The American development studio also permanently took over the development of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake from Aspyr. Aspyr claimed in 2022 that the game would be released that same year, but according to some anonymous developers from the company, 2025 was a more realistic target date. Development of the game was paused in 2022 after internal problems at Aspyr, according to Bloomberg. The studio was then reportedly looking at new options and one of those options was bringing in Saber Interactive.
