Microsoft says it will release smaller updates for Windows 10. The tech giant will use the same technology as for the Windows 11 operating system, where updates are about forty percent smaller.

The tech giant uses a more efficient way to release updates for Windows 11, which means that the monthly updates are a lot smaller than the current updates for Windows 10. From version 22H2, Microsoft will also use this method for Windows 10 updates, it reports. company.

Because the updates are reduced in size, they are installed faster. The first Windows 10 update to use the more efficient technology is the KB5036979 update released on April 23. The update for Windows 10 devices running version 22H2 is 650 MB. For comparison: the April 9 update was still 830 MB.
