School buses did not run again on Tuesday, April 23. This also forced schools to close at an earlier time. However, today, Wednesday April 24, school transport is guaranteed again. Antonius Poki, chairman of the Organization of Bus Owners in Suriname, confirms this to Dagblad Suriname.

He indicates that the landfill has now been dumped and that school transport is guaranteed both on road and on water.

It has often happened that bus and boat owners are confronted with late payments and therefore take action. It is therefore very important that the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture remains actively involved in solving school transport problems. By taking adequate measures, such as ensuring timely payments to bus owners and ensuring the safety and quality of transport, the ministry can have a positive impact on the well-being of both students and parents.

It is essential that all parties involved continue to work together to ensure that disruptions to school transport are minimized and that all children continue to get to school safely and on time.
