All the family’s belongings are removed from the house from top to bottom. These are then sorted by Viktor’s team in a large warehouse. It is up to the family to decide which products to keep and which to throw away, donate or recycle. Christel finds it difficult to say goodbye to her junk. “This comes with my emotion, so this I find difficult,” she says as she sorts her books.

Christel explains that these books give her peace when she feels attacked by those around her. In addition to other people judging her, Christel is also quite critical of herself. “I’m never good enough and I always have too much shit,” she tells Viktor, crying.

While cleaning up, Viktor also comes across a lot of works of art made by Christel. He thinks it’s strange that these aren’t hanging in her house. Christel explains that she simply doesn’t think her paintings are beautiful enough. Viktor doesn’t understand that. Christel then bursts into tears and explains where her feelings come from. “It’s also a part of education. I wasn’t allowed to be arrogant. I wasn’t allowed to say that I was good at something. I’m not worth it.” Viktor thinks differently and explains to Christel that she can definitely be there. “You need to love yourself a little more, honey.”

When Viktor asks her what she hopes to achieve with her participation in the program, Christel says that she mainly wants ‘peace’. Both in her house and in her head. She also dreams of a bookcase where the books are sorted by color.

In the meantime, there is also a lot of work going on in their house. This way the walls get a coat of paint or new wallpaper. The tables and bookcases also get a make over. At the end of the process, it is finally time to surprise the family with a tidy house. When Christel and her husband step inside, they don’t know what they see. “It makes me a bit quiet. You can’t do that easily,” Christel laughs.

Christel also got her bookcase colored. “This makes me very happy.” Her works of art now also hang on the walls in various places in the house.
