Gerben confronts Erik in Married at First Sight with ‘play’ | RTL Boulevard

Now that the love experiment is coming to an end, it’s time for the couples to carefully consider whether they want to stay married. Gerben has his doubts about Erik. He shares his thoughts with the experts during the final discussion, which Erik has not yet attended. “After this whole adventure, I really wonder who Erik actually is,” he admits.

Gerben says he did everything he could to make the marriage work. “But in love I immediately felt that something was wrong.” Gerben feels an enormous distance between him and his husband. Erik only seems to want to investigate their love after the recordings, says Gerben. He gets a lump in his throat. “Because I wonder if he put on a play.”

It’s time for Erik to join us. He is shocked when Carlo Boszhard confronts him with what Gerben has just said. “I notice that I care about you. I always think about you,” Erik tells his spouse. But according to Gerben, his husband has not been home for a long time. After seeing the images of their love adventure, the gentlemen are emotional.

When expert Patrick says that Gerben is in love, he breaks in. “No,” says Gerben. “I don’t believe that. The moment he comes in and I see your face, Gerben, I see feeling. You are hurt too.” According to Eveline, Gerben is in love with the picture that it could have been. “I think you were longing for confirmation that Erik was unable to provide,” she says. Eveline asks Erik if he is physically attracted to Gerben. “I think he’s a beautiful man to look at,” he answers. “I’ve said that many times. Also to him.”
