Rens Kroes’ husband allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat in Amsterdam on September 9, 2016 and forced her to perform oral sex on him. He allegedly said things like ‘I’ll break your neck if you move’, ‘I’ll seriously kill you’ and ‘I want to get deep inside you’.

He was found guilty of rape in 2019, as revealed in the summer of 2023 from court documents published at the request of gossip vlogger Yvonne Coldeweijer. Sid S. was given a prison sentence of 24 months, but appealed. This appeal was actually due on March 7, 2023, but the case was postponed because the defense had requested to hear witnesses.

Flight hazard

The appeal took place on Thursday, more than a year later. The Public Prosecution Service demanded 4 years in prison against Sid S. That is higher than the prison sentence that was initially imposed on him. The public prosecutor was also not pleased with his ‘arrogant attitude’. Sid S., who did not have a lawyer with him, repeatedly refused to respond to questions.

The verdict will be announced in two weeks, on April 11. Sid S. was immediately arrested because he was said to be a flight risk: he was said to have plans to live in Ivory Coast. The Netherlands does not have a legal assistance treaty with that country.

Kroes and her husband have been together for about sixteen years. At the end of 2020, they had a daughter together, Maya Jade. In 2021, in response to a question from a fan, Kroes announced that he had secretly tied the knot. “We got married three years ago,” she wrote at the time.
