During a joint action by police, customs and the municipality on the Lage Weide industrial estate, more than one hundred kilos of soft drugs, a large commercial quantity of hard drugs, illegal tobacco products, fake brand clothing and goods used for hemp and hard drug production were found. By order of Mayor Sharon Dijksma, two garages where the goods were found were immediately closed for a period of one year. The partners involved are now conducting further research.

Integrated controls such as these are aimed at disrupting criminal revenue models. The parties involved want to create barriers to this type of crime and frustrate the subversive activities of criminal associations. After the checks, a special team from the municipality returns to the business park to talk to entrepreneurs and local residents. They want to make them aware of the risks of subversive crime and also point out the options for reporting signals.
