It concerns the Jewish doctor Asher Wolke, played by the American actor Noah Galvin. In the episode he sees a synagogue being destroyed by criminals. After he confronts the vandals, he is attacked from behind. He won’t survive that.

Viewers are having a hard time. “I wasn’t ready for this,” someone writes on X. Another fan brings up old traumas: “The Good Doctor killed my favorite character. This is the second time they’ve done this, I’m sick of it.’ At the end of season three, another important character, Dr. Neil Melendez.

The American drama series tells the story of young surgeon Shaun Murphy, who works at St. Bonaventure Hospital. Due to his autistic disorder, he is hardly able to make contact with his colleagues and patients. Yet he manages to disguise his lack of social skills with his eccentric medical gift.

The seventh and final season is currently being aired in the Netherlands The Good Doctor broadcast. The episode in question cannot yet be seen in the Netherlands, but will appear on Videoland in two weeks.
