Amalia clearly did not expect this ‘rain’ of orange streamers. Her sister Alexia immediately rushed to help her. The personal assistant of the princesses and the king’s grand mistress also immediately came to Amalia’s aid. The princess herself could laugh about the incident. She then continued the tour past the audience and the Emmen folk singer Jannes.
The princesses previously had a conversation with peers who study in Emmen. They spoke briefly about what it is like to pursue a higher vocational or vocational education in this city in Drenthe. Amalia in particular asked the students many questions. “What is it like to study here in Emmen?” she asked her peers. Amalia herself is studying Politics, Psychology, Law and Economics in Amsterdam.
The young people asked Amalia about her study experience. “Studying hard, but super interesting,” the princess replied. She did not want to focus the conversation on herself for too long: “But what exactly are you studying?” she quickly shifted the subject.
