‘Apocalypse if Russia uses nuclear weapons against West’

--

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko stokes the geopolitical fire by warning of an ‘apocalypse’. According to him, this will take place if Russia uses its nuclear arsenal ‘for retaliation for Western actions’, writes BNR.

The dictator spoke these threatening words before the parliament of Belarus, shortly after Putin once again stated that Western support for Ukraine could lead to a direct confrontation with Russia. And according to Moscow, that could lead to a nuclear conflict.

‘Ukraine used as a test area’

“The world’s largest nuclear powers are already indirectly fighting on Ukrainian territory,” said the loyal ally of Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin. According to him, the Ukrainian territory is used as a ‘test area’ to determine the ‘future world order’.

Peace talks

Lukashenko believes the time is right to start peace talks between Russia and Ukraine. According to him, now is a logical moment because of the stalemate at the front. He sees a basis for possible peace talks in the previous peace talks that took place in Turkey, when the war between Russia and Ukraine was only a few weeks old.

Fear of border violence

He considers the ‘risk quite high’ that violent actions will take place on the Belarusian border, partly due to the deployment of 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers near Belarus. The country is also said to detect dozens of Western spy planes every week near Belarusian airspace.
