Bart DePauw came into disrepute due to inappropriate behavior towards various women. It came to a trial. At the end of 2021, De Pauw was sentenced to a six-month suspended prison sentence for stalking five women and electronic nuisance against one woman.

Since then it has been quiet around De Pauw, until the VRT recently decided to broadcast the documentary ‘The process that nobody wanted’, only to then remove the documentary from the programming and finally broadcast it.

We should not expect new programs with De Pauw. The VRT CEO says that this was not the intention of the conversations he had with De Pauw. “It would be particularly remarkable that the managing director of the public broadcaster would again work with someone who recently asked for 13 million euros in compensation from this house,” said Frederik Deleplace in ‘To the point ‘.

“No, that was not the approach to the conversations. The approach was that we thought we could do something good in this case in good conscience, by making the missing elements – namely the sense of guilt and the apology – easier.”
