The man who was assaulted by a large group of young people at Bijlmer Arena station last Friday and pushed onto the track is said to have kissed an underage boy on the mouth shortly before the incident. An assault has now been reported against the still unknown victim. That writes Het Parool.

According to the newspaper, at least three of the seven arrested underage suspects have stated that the man kissed a 16-year-old boy on the mouth prior to the assault. Several statements also say that the man was probably under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The boy who would have been kissed on the mouth unsolicited, would then have called two friends for help. The three of them confronted the man about his behavior. The later victim would then have touched the boy again, after which the three boys attacked him. Other young people present at the station then joined and also attacked the man.

‘No, no, no police’

The assault happened around 9:25 p.m. last Friday. Videos posted on social media show the group punching and kicking the victim. Among other things against his head, while he is already lying on the floor of the platform. When the victim then tries to get up, he is pushed onto the track by a boy. Who exactly the man is, is still unclear to the police.

The abused man climbed onto the platform across the street and was helped by a train passenger. According to Het Parool, the police have spoken to that traveler. He allegedly stated that the man was about 40 years old and spoke no Dutch or English, but possibly Italian. When the witness offered to call 911, he said ‘no, no, no police’. He would then have boarded a train to Schiphol.
