ZEELAND | Under the title ‘Disappeared, we lost them’, Heemkundekring Zeeland is holding an exhibition about disappeared Zeeland companies and shops. The exhibition can be seen on Easter Monday, Monday April 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hooge Raam home at Kleine Graspeel 3b.

The liveliness of every village, and therefore also of Zeeland, is partly determined by the local entrepreneurs. They start all kinds of companies and shops. Sometimes that doesn’t go well, and then it stops quickly. But in other cases, such a company manages to survive for decades and generations. This exhibition mainly shows the shops and companies that no longer exist. In addition to photos of the entrepreneurs and their business, there are also items on display that were left over after the closure of the business and donated to the Heemkundekring. In these times of online ordering and parcel services, the Heemkundekring wants to pay attention to these local entrepreneurs who have given color to the village. The exhibition can also be viewed on Wednesday, April 3, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. The entrance is 2 euros per adult. Members of Heemkundekring Zeeland and children under the age of 16 can enter for free.
