Description

Saturday April 6
Still life and claire-obscure photography.

The historic CA Meerman shipyard in Arnemuiden is one of the oldest shipyards in the Netherlands. Founded in 1763 and still a vibrant company. In the past, Hoogaars and other Zeeland ships were built there, but now volunteers work there. They restore old and new boats. The shipyard is a national monument, museum and workshop at the same time. It is the combination of buildings, boats and old tools that makes this location so photogenic.

We start this afternoon with a presentation. While enjoying coffee/tea and a pastry you will receive explanations, tips and tricks. You can then take photographs on the grounds yourself. You can choose your own topics, but you will also receive assignments.
Of course it is inspiring and educational to see the photos of other participants. We conclude the workshop by discussing a number of selected photos.

What can you expect this afternoon?

• Explanation of how to create atmospheric stills and photographers.
• The lighting options in the workshops.
• Tips for taking claire-obscure photos.
• Creating a beautiful bokeh effect
• Use of a reflective and diffuse screen.
• Discuss the photos.
• Small group (maximum 6 people) with a lot of individual attention.
• Coffee/tea/pastry and a drink afterwards.
• Entrance to Arnemuiden shipyard.
