  • Thursday April 4: The idiosyncratic musician, artist and poet Birdguy presents in EKKO his debut album, which will be released on Something Happening Somewhere (SoHaSo). Support is from Destiny*. (7.30 pm/€12)
  • Thursday April 4: In dBs presents the Utrecht hip-hop artist Sippy Cup (photo) his new EP Ment. The EP tells the story of a year with ups and downs and goes from more sensitive songs, via experimental boom-bap to euphoric hard hip-hop. (8 p.m./€8)
  • Friday April 5: Heavy supergroup Iron Jinn consists of band members of The Devil’s Blood, Death Alley, Shaking Godspeed, PAUW and Birth of Joy. The music is dark, ominous and psychedelic. In EKKO they are doing their only Dutch club show this year. They will present the new live album that was recorded during Roadburn. (7 p.m./€17.50)
  • Friday April 5: The Geertekerk has an evening around the Dutch translation of ‘Faith, Hope and Carnage’, a long and in-depth interview with Nick Cave. Cave enthusiasts Claartje Kruijff and Johan Roeland, NRC editor and cave expert Karel Smouter and translator Daan Savert talk about the meaning of this book for themselves. Pim van de Werken and Teije and His Army of Girls play songs by Cave. (8 p.m./€15)
  • Saturday April 6: The end party of Studio Moscow at dB’s old location. You will hear jazz with funny guys, women’s punk as it is intended, Extreme sounds, sensitive tones, language, metal or classical? (3.30 pm/free, small cash compensation for drinks)
  • Saturday April 6: Dream butter plays in the basement of Café (Oudegracht) and you will hear the new single ‘Blaaskaak’ there. (7.30 pm/free)
  • Saturday April 6: DJs, artists and small businesses gather in BIRD FREE (Utrecht) for GET TO IT, an event organized by a group of young creatives guided by La Cassette. There is music from it Dey.Rey, Palmtrees Papi, Jazz Dalia, Wolph and Max Resonance B2B DJ Stone. In addition, there is a market with jewelry and vintage clothing, an exhibition with graphic art and photography and there is poetry. (8 p.m. – 1 a.m./€11)
  • Sunday April 7: On the Cultural Sunday ‘Beating Heart’ you discover how art and culture help you be healthy and happy. On the Jaarbeursplein and with The Industry you will find music, theater, talks, performances, films and workshops. (12:00/free)
  • Sunday April 7: dBs is busy renovating at Vlampipestraat 63. A good time to take another look at how things are going. There is live music JESCO (Folk n Roll). (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM/free)
