Wagensveld is not allowed to come to Arnhem for six months. He wants the area ban lifted and has applied for a provisional injunction to attend a demonstration in the Gelderland capital on Saturday.

Wagensveld was banned from the area because he wanted to burn a Koran in Arnhem last Saturday. That was forbidden, but he still wanted to come. According to Mayor Ahmed Marcouch, this could lead to very serious disorder and even terrorist danger. Wagensveld or other Pegida members could possibly be a target of an attack, it became clear on Wednesday during the hearing of the lawsuit.
Wagensveld was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in the court in Arnhem after he dragged a Quran on a dog leash on the ground just before entering. After the hearing he had to go back to jail. He was released Wednesday evening at 10 p.m. The Public Prosecution Service will later decide on a possible prosecution for violating the emergency order.
