The soap opera surrounding the mandatory behavioral course for employees of RTL, Talpa and the NPO Continues. Johan Derksen repeated yesterday for the third evening in a row Today Inside that he will not take the course and revealed that he had received a witty email from Talpa boss John de Mol. Presenter Wilfred Genee says he has completed the mandatory online training on respectful collaboration.

The online course is about respectful collaboration. The training was set up by the Media Pact Respectful Cooperation, a collaboration between various parties that was established after the abuses at The Voice of Holland.

Johan Derksen about behavioral course in Today Inside

Bar guest Sam Hagens shared in last night’s broadcast that he would like to take the course, but that he has not yet received an email. Derksen claims that he still hasn’t had it either. “I don’t think he’s coming either.” The mustachioed analyst says that Talpa boss John de Mol “has a sense of humor.” De Mol is said to have emailed his diploma to Derksen.

“I have now obtained it myself, I have received it,” says Genee as he holds up his diploma. “The nice thing about it is that you can print two, so I did Johan’s at the same time.” Genee then shows a piece of paper with Derksen’s name. Political reporter Sam Hagens asks the presenter whether he had the editors create the course. “I did it myself, I enjoyed watching it,” Genee responds.

“You didn’t know that ignoring people is actually not allowed?” says table guest Genee to table guest Albert Verlinde. “So much is not allowed,” responds the king of gossip. “Then my ex-wife has to go to prison,” says Derksen dryly. Then Genee produces a diploma with the name Peter Gillis. “I heard he bought it.” He also has a piece of paper with René van der Gijp’s name on it, but it says in red cow letters that he has failed. “That doesn’t matter,” laughs ‘Gijp’. According to him, a good friend said that the course “doesn’t make sense.”

‘Pointless course’

Derksen maintains, just like previous evenings, that he is not going to take the “pointless course”. “What is all this nonsense?” he said last night. “It takes time, energy and money and all you create is mediocrity.” The analyst states that he has been working in the media for 45 years and has never felt unsafe anywhere. Genee then says laughing: “That’s usually because other people feel unsafe around you.” Derksen counters that he has never experienced an incident.

Derksen previously said that he does not want to be ‘bothered’ with the course. He also called it ‘nonsense’ and ‘nonsense’. “I’m not going to do this kind of nonsense at 75. There’s nothing about that in my contract, so I just don’t do that.” Talpa announced on Wednesday that all colleagues must follow the training, including Derksen. Political reporter Merel Ek stated in the broadcast on Tuesday that the training must be completed before April 12.
