The Netherlands is therefore at the highest level for beer exports, with two billion euros. But closely followed by Belgium with 1.7 billion euros. The great beer country Germany is only in third place with 1.23 billion euros in exports. Most beer from the Netherlands goes to the United States, while Belgian beer is mainly exported to France and the Netherlands.

Our southern neighbors easily beat us for frozen potato products. With an export amount of 3.43 billion euros, a large part of Belgian fries go to the United Kingdom and France. Our country also exports a lot of fries to the British, but we are stuck with a total export of frozen potato products of 1.59 billion. Here, third place is taken by France with 0.46 billion euros. Belgium has doubled its exports in the past three years, partly due to new chip factories. Interesting detail, a number of those new Belgian factories are from Dutch manufacturers.

Another major export product is chocolate and other cocoa preparations. Here Germany takes home the top prize with an amount of 5.79 billion euros. Belgium is a close second here with 3.65 billion euros. In this category, the Netherlands does not get further than fourth place behind Poland.
