Easter is just around the corner and for many people that means brunches, walks and other entertainment. Whatever the plans for the weekend, the weather allows for both bike rides and a lengthy indoor lunch.
At certain times it becomes sunny, but there is also rain. The weather also varies per region. Those who live in Enschede have a chance of two beautiful days on both Saturday and Sunday, but on the coast it is slightly less.
Good Friday and Saturday
This Good Friday will start off a bit rainy in the morning, especially in the center and north of the country. But in the afternoon it is dry everywhere and then the sun breaks through on the coast and in the north. It will be a bit milder than the past few days at around 12 to 14 degrees.
According to weatherman Peter Kuipers Munneke, Saturday is the most uncertain day of the Easter weekend. This is because it is relatively warm in Germany, but quite cold above the North Sea. These are two certainties, but it is not yet clear what this will do to the weather in the Netherlands on Saturday.
Significant temperature differences
This means that significant temperature differences can occur. For example, on the coast it can reach a maximum of 11 degrees, while the temperature in Twente, the Achterhoek and Limburg can rise to 18 degrees or slightly more.
Easter can be predicted a little better. It looks like Easter Sunday will be sunny and dry, with not too much wind. “Sunday is in my agenda as the best of the two Easter days,” says Kuipers Munneke. It is a big contrast with Monday, which promises to be a cloudy and rainy day.
Other years
The weather at Easter is difficult to compare with Easter in other years, because the holidays are now relatively early in the year. Easter can fall between March 25 and April 25.
Kuipers Munneke points out that the temperature does not have to be the most important. “At this time of year, 12 degrees in the sun is nicer than 16 degrees and cloudy. That is due to the power of the sun. It is now just as strong as in mid-September and we really see that as a summer month. So if When the sun shines, it is immediately very nice, and there is a good chance that it will show itself on Easter Sunday.”
